Pulp & Paper
Band Mill Saws - After having the bark removed, the logs are picked up by carriages and fed into band saws which are also mounted on Fabreeka® pads. Carriage Rails - Fabreeka® pads 11/32" thick are used under the full length of the rails that are usually about 50' or 60' long. Fabreeka® takes up any slight irregularities of the base of the rail to eliminate any need for precision grinding and absorbs the impact shock transmitted to the supporting structure. Chipping Machines - Fabreeka® pads 5/8", 3/4" or 1" thick or Fabcel® stacks are used to reduce the impact shock or vibration being transmitted to the foundation. The rotary impacts that characterize the operation of these machines can cause damage to the concrete and steel base under the machines unless they are mounted on pads. Debarker Roll - Fabreeka® pads 5/8" and 1" thick are used under the bearing blocks supporting the debarker rolls to absorb the heavy impacts caused by the logs being tossed around the rolls in removing the bark. Hogs (Bark Shredders) - Fabreeka® pads usually 5/8" or 3/4" thick or Fabcel® stacks are placed under the footprint while Fabreeka® washers and bushings are used on the base anchor bolts. Vibrating Screens - Fabreeka® pads usually 5/8" or 3/4" thick or Fabcel® stacks along with Fabreeka® washers and bushings are used to isolate the screens from their supporting structures. Paper Refiners - Fabreeka® pads varying from 5/8" to 1" thick or Fabcel® stacks are used under the machine base along with washers at the anchor bolts. After the initial handling of logs where they are prepared in the same way whether being processed for wood products or paper pulp, they go through edgers, matchers and gang saws when being made into lumber and wood products. The edgers, trimmers and matchers are mounted on 5/8" thick Fabreeka® pads and washers at the anchor bolts, while 3/4" thick Fabreeka® pads are normally used under the gage saws. The Fabreeka® pads reduce the impact transmitted to the foundation and permit more accurate machine performance by isolating objectionable vibration.
