Microscopy

An increase in biomedical research and advancements in science and semiconductor manufacturing have created the need for highly accurate microscopes. Measurements and magnifications are being made within microns and angstroms using atomic force, scanning probe, optical and electron microscopes.

Due to the ultra-high resolution requirements, most of these microscopes are installed using low frequency isolation systems. The isolation systems provide attenuation in laboratories and cleanrooms where human footfalls and structural vibration can otherwise decrease performance and accuracy.

Biomedical research includes the manipulation of cells and the study of neurons and neural networks under magnification. Cell biologists and electrophysiologists conducting cell injection, in-vitro, patch clamping and neuro analysis require a "vibration free" environment.

Semiconductor manufacturing equipment including X-Y stages, mask aligners, wafer probes and micropositioning equipment also require ultra-low frequency isolation.

A vibration site survey will provide the amplitudes of vibration and the frequencies at which they occur. This data is recorded, analyzed and then compared directly to the manufacturer's allowable floor vibration limits. This comparison of data enables the isolation system designer to make the correct isolator selection.

Fabreeka® offers a variety of pneumatic vibration isolation systems for microscopy applications including platforms, tables, frames/cradles and foundations/floors for complete laboratory isolation in nano measurement environments.
