Scales Fabreeka® pads were originally used between the base plates and concrete supports on (old design) mechanical lever arm scales to protect the knife edges and concrete from impacts generated during entry and exit on the weighing platform. Modern scales use electronics and employ load cells in place of lever arms as the weigh measuring mechanism. Fabreeka® pads are now being used to protect the load cells from the same shock and high frequency vibration as they did for the mechanical scales. Fabreeka® is now faced with PTFE to allow it to slide against a polished stainless steel facing plate to eliminate binding of the load cell button as the weigh-bridge beams shorten in length due to bending loads or temperature differentials. Further, to protect the sensitive electronic readout gauges from low frequency in-plant disturbances, our softer Fabcel® (elastomer), steel, or air spring isolators can be used.
